International tourism and passenger transport operationTourism in the modern world is viewed as a socio-economic phenomenon that has a direct and indirect influence on the development of all associated ifrastruktury. Modern tourism is based on a high level of development of transport, social sphere and sphere of services, which, ultimately, turns it into a highly profitable sector of the economy.

According to the world tourism organization (WTO), today tourism is one of the most dynamic and profitable sectors of the global economy. At the yield, it is second only the extraction and processing of oil. Tourism accounts for about 6 % of the world’s gross national product, 7 % of global investment, every 16th a workplace, 11 % of world consumer spending and 5 % of all tax revenues. In this regard, in many countries the tourism sector is actively developing with government support.

According to the WTO, Russia in 2005 ranked 16th in the world in income generated from tourism and number of people coming to us tourists – 13-E. far-abroad Countries account for 30% of the total number of arrivals of foreigners to Russia, among which are leading ten countries (they account for 80% of the market), the first to Germany, Finland, USA, UK, Italy, France and Japan. In recent years the list was expanded to the Baltic countries, which has increased business and tourist exchanges, and the Republic of Korea.

Russia, due to its unique natural and cultural potential, as well as the interest of foreign tourists to the new direction, has every reason for the development of all existing types of tourism. It is expected that by 2010 it will be included in the top ten most visited countries.

Transport services for tourists is one of the components of the tourism industry. At the same time, transport and travel are considered as a separate type of tourism.

Transport travel is a journey organized tourist groups in the presence of vouchers (vouchers) according to the available routes using different vehicles. They are classified according to following basic characteristics:

– method of transportation on the route;

– the mode of transport used;

– construction of motorway route;

– the duration of the trip;

– seasonality, etc.

Tourist transport and travel, usually implemented by several modes of transport: train + bus (car), air + bus, etc.

The most mobile forms of transport are bus and car, which are used as the independent route, and in the form of transfer of transportation from the airport (station) to hotel and back.

Why in the world there are special companies engaged in transportation of passengers within the territory of the neighboring States. In the carriage of passengers, in accordance with bilateral agreements in the field of road transport permit system provides for regular and irregular transportations of passengers by buses in international traffic on the territory of the Contracting parties.

The carrier is not allowed to carry passengers between two points within the territory of the other Contracting party.

The carrier may carry passengers from the territory of the other Contracting party on the territory of a third country and from the territory of a third country to the territory of the other Contracting party, unless he received permission of the competent authority of the other Contracting party.
